Paolo’s ideal RSS reader is fine for techies, but doesn’t deliver for business use. I’ve been trying to get RSS into my organisation as a means for internal communication. In my experience business people like to take their stuff with them, like email, and should not be considered always online. This is especially true in my organisation where 80% of the users base have portables.
Therefore, I would add to Paolo’s list:
- A desktop application that syncs reading lists and read marks and
- The central element must live inside my firewall in order to handle internal feeds as well as external.
